& SafuDus fiJwblam J'tfi GIL Interpretation of of the dim-out regulations issued recently by Major T. A. Terry, ranking Army authority for the coastal area of New York, New Jersey and Delaware, indicates that the measures are by far the most drastic restrictions ever placed on this area by the military. Very bluntly, in their present form, the regulations amount to a virtual blackout, having long since passed the point of a mere coastal dim-out. The new rules, promulgated after several months' study of the effect of the original and modified coastal dim-out, are apparently in force for the duration. While there is room for argument pro and con, it is assumed that the Army authorities must consider the new rules essential to the safety of the nation, otherwise they would not impose such stringent restrictions. The city commission this week dispatched a letter to Leonard Dreyfuss, chairman of the New Jersey Civilian Defense Council, informing him that Cape May is cooperating in all regulations as completely as possible, but suggesting that any relief from the restrictions, which now have past the point of mere inconvenience, wouW be greatly appreciated by Cape May citizens. Beyond the consideration of personal convenience, the new dim-out rules are extremely serious. From the standpoint of motorists, albteit on essential missions, after-dark driving is extremely hazardous. Pedestrians, too, are subject to increased hazards after sundown. From a pure dollars-and-cents standpoint, the new rulings stand to cost Cape May residents a great deal of money, requiring as they do the installation of blackout curtains on all windows visible from the sea. Venetian blinds or ordinary shades are not enough, the Army says, despite the fact that they prevent direct rays of light from escaping and certainly diminate skyglow completely. ' Most of all, the new restrictions will be costly to Cape May and other New Jersey resorts from the standpoint of the possible loss of business during tfie next summer season. With such stringent restrictions, it is unlikely that the summer of 1343 will have much of resemblance to that of 194eVCI If the drastic virtual blackout regulations are ESSENTIAL TO THE SAFETY AND PROTECTION OF AMERICA, none of us would seriously protest even though the result would disrupt the normal life of the community almost entirely. .... But if the value of such restrictions is questionable, as indicated by the fact that the entire coast is not blacked out to an equal extent and that some military officers seriously question the value of such measures, then our public officials, as representatives of the citizens of the areas affected, are certainly not overstepping the bounds of propriety to seek whatever relief they can from conditions which impose real hazards upon the civilian population. yttswuj 0vuAtmaAi GhaatL Distribution of Christmas .saving fund checks to several hundred Christmas Club members by the Merchants National Bank last week released more than $12,000 in Cape May and this immediate vicinity at the outset of the greatest buying season of the year. Much of the money undoubtedly will be used for Christmas purchases. Some will go for taxes, some to meet other obligations, some will find its way into family savings accounts and-wsT bonds. But the bulk of it will be spent for the purchase of gifts during the pre-Christmas shopping

THE WEEKLY SERMON CORNER:

Bible Description of the Anti-Christ By the Rev. William R. Munson, pastor. Pilgrim Holiness Church, Erma.

This year, most of that money will probably remain in thin locality. In years past, one of Cape May’s most serious business problems was the widespread custom of shopping in nearby cities where there are larger stores; This year, because all forms of transportation are at a premium, much of that shopping will be done at home or at least in the immediate vicinity of Cape May. As a result, local merchants should benefit, and indirectly, every business in this area should benefit for the oftrepeated phrase, “What helps one helps all” is no less true today than it was when it was coined. With one of its greatest business problems automatically solved by the war and the purchasing power of the community increased many-fold as a result of the influx of service men, tmiir families and defense workers to this area, this locality stands to have one of the best Christmas seasons, from a business standpoint, that it has ever had. Of course, the war which has brought.these business improvements has also brought heartache and worry to families whose sons and brothers and husbands are in the armed forces. It has robbed them of their presence at home during the holiday season. It has upset family and community life. It has likewise brought about many changes in the business life of the community’. They are some of the prices we must

pay for war.

. True, we all have many problems confronting us this year. But we also have much for whichio be thankful, for even our worst and most vexing situations are infinitely better than the best in any other country of the world. We are Americans and we shall have an American Christmas 1

The annual camaign to raise funds with which to combat infantile paralysis in Cape May County and the nation as a whole was launched this week with the appointment of local

chairmen to handle community campaign*-

Here is a charity which deserves the support of every citizen, for it is one which stands ready at all times to aid

every citizen regardless of race, creed or color.

Each year Cape May County has contributed a sizeable amount to the national fund. Half of the sum collected has remained in the hands of the county committee to be spent for the benefit of victims of the dread disease in this area. Fortunately there have been comparatively few cases of infantile paralysis in this area, but the association stands ready to meet any spread of the disease which might occur. When the Jocah-diTye begins, don’t hesitate. Do whatr you c*ti to help. 'Any contribution will help the com-

o assist some victim of infantile paralysis.

Test I John 4; 3. This is that Spirit of Anti-Christ, whereof ye have heard that it should come and even now already is it in the

vorld.

The word anti means, against; opposed to. The Anti-Christ will lisplay that which is opposite to he real Christ; where Christ is for peace, he will be for war; where Christ is for love, he will jrge hate. The Anti-Christ will ae incarnated with Uie devil as 3od was incarnated in Christ. The Bible uses ditlerent names to express the works of the AntiChrist; King of Fierce Countenmce; the Man of Sin; .the Beast; that Wicked One; False Prophet; the Idle Shepherd. We wish to describe him under these heads. First: ‘‘As King of Fierce Countenance". He is pictured as a warrior. The devil will give him all of his power to bring about his aim; world dominion. Dictatorship). No doubt the world is preparing for it now. No one man ever had such power since the fall of the Roman Emperors that a few men have in these days. The Anti-Christ king will have a perfect war machine to bring all humanity to his terms. He shall have no regard for any human being who refuses to heed or opposes him. Jesus, the rightful king, was up in the wilderness hungry, when the devil offered him all the kingdoms of the world if he would fall down and worship him. The devil was not rebuked for offering Jesus the kingdoms; the rebuke was for who he should worship. I believe God when He made this world in the beginning gave the devil (though not a devil then but an Archangel) this world as his dominion, but he was found to have pride in his heart, he lifted himself up to set himself up above God, and brought chaos upon the then known world. How long it was in a chaotic condition the Word docs not state, but the Bible states, "That God made this world to be inhabited," he made man and ,put him ii garden of Eden to dress it for him. God gave Adam supreme rulership of the earth on conditions of obedience to his Word. The devil tempted Adam and Eve and they sold out to the devil for sin, and sin brought all the death and' sorrow on this earth. Jesus, the second Adam, bought back the world by his sacrifice on the cross; and He said He was going away and would be back for His kingdom, but before He would be back, the Anti-Christ, a King of Fierce Countenance, would accept the Devil’s challenge that he had offered Jesus up in the mount. The second of the Anti-Christ’s names is: “The. Beast”. He is referred to as one coming up out of the sea. (The interpretation of the sea i»j that he is a man with a beastly nature given to him by the devil; coming into world power out of the masses of humanity.) He is represented as having seven heads and ten horns. (Seven is the perfect number, and ten is the complete number.) It represents the AntiChrist as having complete human power with perfect wisdom of the devil to rule the world. As Jesus had a human body to appear in this world, so will the devil use some human person wjio has great political power. After he is killed or commits suicide; then the devil will be allowed to resurrect him again to make R appear to this deceived world that he is God by his resurrection. He will make a league with

the Jewish people to be their Messiah, because the Jewish people are still expecting their Messiah to come and set up a kingdom in this world. And - the Bible states; “that three unclean spirits will come out of the mouth of the Dragon, AntiChrist and the False Prophet and will go out to all the nations to make war against the Jewish people”, who will be gathered together again in their own national land that God gave to Abraham and his seed; though they have sinned and God dispersed them into all nations as he stated he would. So is God going to gather them, yea, in troublesome times, “when Rachel shall weep for her children”, who knows whether or not that God is using this war as a source today to start the Njews back to Palestine. Wendell Willkie stated in the press: “The Jews must have the Holy Land and it must be opened up so that the Jewish refugees can have a place to

live.”

The Anti-Christ’s final time ill come when he turns against the Jew, then God will step in and help the Jew like he did in the old testament time. According to the Word of God the battleground will finally wind up in the Holy Land and all the nations who are against the Jews and in the battle there, will be slain by the power of God. As the Assyrians were in the time

of King Hczekiah.

The third name of the AntiChrist is: “The Man of Sin”. The Bible calls him the Son of Perdition. He opposes and exalts himself above God. Isaiah states the same thing the devil did in his rebellion in the beginning of this world. He will set up his image and cause all people orship him. The world will swallow him because he showeth great power to make his image speak like a human person. Fourth name of the AntiChrist is: “That Wicked One". He will use lying wonders and signs to deceive “the vl-ry elect if pos-1

These descriptions of the AntiChrist and his powers in this world are moving to that end as fast as humanity can bring it

to pass.

The reason that it -is. coming so fast: God’s word states, “Because they (the world) receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved, and for this cause God shall send them strong delusions, that they believe a lie. That they al be damned who believe not the truth, but had pleasure righteousness". They may be religious and even go to church, but their hearta do not have the dijlne. love that - is offered by ubd through Jesus Christ's sacrifice. Some received the truth but not the love. (God's love). No one can have God and sin at the same time, they must renounce the one to have the other. Take heed, receive God and all will be well.

Fifth name of the Anti-Christ » the “False Prophet”. Because Jesus was the‘ great prophet he will infringe as a prophet. He shall do miracles that will be astonishing. He will even call fire down out of .heaven to deceive the world. He shall be like a lamb, but when he speaks or acts, he is like a beast. He will use his religiqh' as a cloak to cover up his ungodliness. Last name of the Anti-Christ is the “Idle Shepherd”. As Jesus was a shepherd he will act, on the same principles. Zach. states: “For, Jo. I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still, but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces Woe to the idle shepherd that leadeth .the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his eye shall be
