“Within the war price and rationing area of Cape May with between 16,000 and 16,000 population, we found our task most difficult to cope with; more so by having to process fuel oQ—for heating and cooking as well as industrial rationing. Dr. Ashburn ■aid. "We therefore organised an oil panel which consisted of five members of which two dropped out, finding the task too great. However, we appointed William Schoenemann chairman, Paul Snyder and Harold Duncan. These members worked from 12 to 14 hours per day for the last six weeks, trying to keep abreast of processing so that every pe might have heat before De ber IS. "The oil panel as well as ration board has worked under strenuous difficulties without any compensation whatever. This is patriotism. "Mrs. Stevens, secretary, and Mrs. Spencer, chief clerk, have worked 60 to 72 hours per week helping to process fuel rationing as well as their daily duties giving out such- rations as part of their daily routine.
