Saar

Harry Henning, Wildwood manager of the U. S. Employment Service, War Manpower Commis«ion, announced late last night that the Drm vo Corporation of Wilmington, Del., will have hiring representatives in his' office January 13 between 9 and noon; 1 and 4 P. M.; and 6 and 9 P. M., to employ

men “on the spot.”

This is the first time workers in the Cape May county area have had an opportunity to participate in what the employment service tails a “pooled-interview,” partic- j nlarly designed for the Dravo cdmp^y- „ '4i These affairs are planned so as to bring together employers and workers, who because of transportation difficulties and other fac

tors, may never meet.

• Experience has shown that they > have been highly successful in indudag employers to hire men who otherwise would be disqualified because of the employer’s inability to make an affirmative decision from

an application card.

Meeting the workers face to face enables the employer to size up the man’s physical condition and mental reactions, also, to get a" . better picture of his educational

and work backgrounds.

In speaking of the affair, Mr.

Henning said:

"I am elated in having the Dravo Corporation visit Wildwood. Froth iny knowledge of the company’s liberal hiring practices, I am of the

I- work at their trade.
