$60,921 Bonds Over Co. Goal — Continued From Page One With only 48 hoars left before , the drive was to close officially, he learned that postoffice returns of the nine southern counties of New Jersey were being credited to the Second Federal Reserve District in New York' instead of the Third District in Philadelphia, in which thi; county is located. He rallied his Ocean City committee and in two days sold 876,000 additional securities. Meantime, sales elsewhere in the county mounted steadily all last week. Ocean City alone purchased almost 60 per cent of the actual Jotal of non-bank sales, os ' 70 per cent of the original quota. The campaign throughout the Third District was “successful beyond expectations" according to Alfred H. Williams, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and district chair-

man for the campaign.

On Saturday, he wired chairmen in the 60 counties comprising the district that non-bank purchases had already exceeded the district quota by $74,000, and

more were pouring in.

“The results are gratifying,” he declared. “They show a forceful attack made by great armies of volunteer workers in every one of the 60 counties of this dis-

trict."

He added that the volume of incoming subscriptions was so heavy that tabulation was not possible at that time.
