The Civic Welfare League of Cape May is the sponsoring prganizstion. Mayor T. Millet Hand addressed the meeting on the work of the City of Cape May in the matter of better facilities for recreation and social development of its people without discrimination of race. He personally pledged his support of the movement for better recreational facilities. Other speakers were Adjutant Theodore F. Thompson, of the local USO Club; the Rev. F. Paul Langhorne, of the Cape Island Baptist Church; the Rev. Albert W. Lenx. of the First Presbyterian Church; the Rev. J. L Peaco, of the Franklin Street Methodist Church; and John H- Edmonds, of the Macedonia Baptist Church. The meeting brought affirmative action in the matter, and plans for realizing the establishment of a center will be entrusted to a board of managers.
