The Coast Guard Base softball am that has won 18 of its last 20 ball games defeated the Hedron 9 at the Naval Air Base recently by a score of 4-0. Big Six Butler, of the Coast Guard Base, twirled a no-hit, norun game. The Hedron 9 did not score a hit or run and not player reached first base, addition to the support his teammates gave him. Ensign C. L. Dain's boys accounted for five hits, four runs and no errors. Butler, who hails from Elizabeth, N. J, was graduated from Sacred Heart High School of Elizabeth where he excelled in basketball. In 1939 and 1940 he was chosen as all-state basketball center for two years. Last year Butler was an outstanding player of the Coast Guard basketball team and was rated as one of the best players along the coast.
