Local Youth ‘Makes’ Shipmate's Poem A Cape May youth was mentioned in a poem recently written by one of his shipmates, hs parents were informed in a letter last week. A copy of the poem was enclosed. Joseph Brewton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brewtqn, of 658 Washington street, a member of the crew of a Coast Guard ship, was one jof the Coast Guards mentioned in the poem written by James W. Hamlin, seaman (1c). One stanza of the poem follows: “Joseph H. Brewton's a ‘good kid,’ they say; Comes from a jerk-water town called Cape May. He hops around like a frisky pup, With his favorite expression, 'Just checking up.’ ” Hamlin's poem was a running commentary on various members of the signal unit aboard the Coast Guard ship.

TIZARD GETS I.PITER FROM SON IN WEST Richard C. Tizard, of 822 Washington street, Cape May, this week received a letter from his William E, Tizard, from whom he had not heard in more than a year. Tizard explained that he has been engaged in special war work in the back country of some of the western states where mail does not reach him easily. A mining engineer who makes his home in California, the younger Tizard is a veteran of World War I, having served overseas. He is a graduate of Lehigh University. In his letter he expressed optimism at the turn of events in the war, expressing the hope that
