i Records, uck Owners ned By ODT
..rTTIC CITY—The local of Defense TransporUtion, through Robert L. Crawford, district manager, this week called attention to the fact that in the original instructions received with their certificates of war necessity, all operators of trucks and any other commercial vehicles were instructed to keep a weekly record of their operations, including the mileage operated, gasoline consumed, tonnage or passengers carried and number of tripe made. In the eaae of operators of three or more vehicles holding fleet certificates, they have had to file a quarterly statement with ODT, on a four-section form that was furnished with the certificate of war necessity. Crawford advised that this quarterly form has been discontinued and in place of it a n«i form, known as CWN-OR, will«i>e mailed monthly to both fleet and single tfack op-
‘ The~form is a two-part perforated card which will be mailed to those operators from whom operating reports for a particular month are desired. No envelope is required for the mailing of this form by the opOn the reverse side of the card bearing the operator's nami are the instructions for the infor mation desired. On the other half of the form, the operator fills in the information requested, and mails back to the ODT Atlantic City office. The card is self addressed but requires a postage stamp. All cards must ba returned so that they arrive on or before the 16th day of the month following the report. The-forms will not be mailed to all operators every month, but will be mailed to certain specific e ps covering one type of busmonthly for several consecutive months. Mr. Crawford stressed the importance of all operators in all types of business and industry keeping an accurate record of them operations, and when they receive an OR form to give it quick action, as their reply is absolutely necesary to enable ODT to prepare adequately for the nation's future transport needs with respect to equipment, parts, tires
and fuel.
Failure of an operator to return the form promptly may result in suspension or revocation of future gasoline rations and the Cancellation of certificates of war
lessity.
Che transportation of essential war materials, foods from farms to markets and final consumers, and passengers by bus and other conveyances to war plants or their business is vital to the war effort and final victory, Craw-
ford said.
To this -end ODT is pledged to
“keep 'em rolling” and to do that they must have the coopvation of every commercial ve-
hicle owner and operator. USESWiilAid War Veterans NEWARK—Men in the fight-
