No good j farmer will sow wheat broadcast. If f he cannot afford to own a drill he csn hire one, and tbe saving in seed will . pay for the rent of the ma chirr. One | gr at benefit ftom tlie use of the drill ia , that Jl puts the wed at a uniform depth , below the surface. Do not change the 1 of wheat without good reason. If a variety is highly praised, and ap)iears to be better than that now grown, try a quantity, giving it the same soil snd 1 as the general crop, towing enough 1 to give seed for next year, should it f out well. Cape Mai Cut, Aug. 28, 1887. Dear Wave : I am a guest at one of tbe big hotels, and I want to say just here that Uie practice some women bavo grabbing chairs more than they can nsc and thereby keeping others standing is most disgraceful. They seem to want a chair for shawl, book, fan and for each of their (eet. One night last week, I think, it was Wednesday, at the hotel lawn concert, I accompanied two ladies and was anxious to got them a seat, remember all of us were guests of the bouse. On tbe opposite side of the rotunda from where wo were standing sat » woman with four empty chairs around her I timidly appreachod and asked if I might have two of them. She looked st.jpc pretty hard with a "No" that made me shiver. As I retreated I heard mutter, "Such impudence I neTer heard of before." Later on In the evening the situation of things was not changed. Whether she held on to those chal s all the evening I don't know, but the inference is that she did. I learned that she was not of the hotel. Our guests complain that when they come out from" supper tbe chairs on the porches and in the rotunda are thus held by women not of the house. Men don't do this so-t of business. Can't Uie bell men help break up tbls abuse ? Yours truly, A Man. Holly Beach, N. J„ Aug.' 84, '87. Eo.
