NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS State of New Jersey Senate Bill No. 44, which has become a law, reads as follows: "It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, corporation, or association, engaged in the production,- manufacture, distribution or sale ot any commodity of general use, or rendering any service to the public, to discrimi1 nate between different persons, firms, associations or | corporations, or different sections, communities or cities of the State, by selling such commodity or "rendering such service at a lower rate in one section, community * J or city than another, or at the same rate or price at a point away from that of production or manufacture as r at the place of production or manufacture, after making due allowance for the difference, if any, in the grade, quality or quantity and in the actual cost of trass- j portatios from the point of production or manufacture if the effect or intent thereof is to establish or main- • tain a virtual monoply, hindering competition, or re- | striction of trade." • In order to comply exactly with the above law, it has bepn found necessary to make new selling prices on all our various products. • For example, the price of tank wagon Water White Kero- * sene Oil at Bayonne, our manufacturing point, is 8}4c. per j gallon. The freight rate to Ocean City is .595 per barrel of 50 * gallons, or 1 19-100 of a cent per gallon. Our Ocean City price I for this product is, therefore, 9 69-100c per gallon. The selling prices on kerosene, gasoline, lubricating oils — in fact, on all of our products, are now being made on this basis. » We are publishing this explanation in order that our customers may understand f the necessity of prices involving decimal fractions of a cent. i . ) Standard Oil Company ^ (NE\V JERSEY)
