Bamberger, eon of Leo Bamberger, a well known Philadelphia business man and a property owner In this city: On July 12 a special meeting of the club was called for tbe Speedway Air Field and resulted tu a large attendauce of members. One uf the tl ret to make a flight with Lieut. Houaer wae Heury F. Bamberger, formerly a director of tbe club, and lately returned from foreign service with the 103rd Regt., U. 8. Engineers. It wa* tbe opinion of all who took tbe aeroplane trips that Lieut. Houaer la a most expert pilot of wide experience. Ovation for Noted X*eader When He Makes First Appearance in XhiB City. Veseella and hie band made their first eppeareucc lu tbla elty Hunday afternoon, when tbla celebrated leader and bla 84 muvlclans gave their opening concert lo tbe music pavilion. The luterlor of the building was tilled and a large uumber of people occupied the benches on tbe outside. When the concert began m the evening, the pavilion, which seats about 2000 people, was filled to capacity, with tnauy standing in every available place. The walks on each side of tbe

building were jammed. It was the greatest crowd ever seen at tbe pavlb Ion. It was also an enthualaallc crowd , and it thoroughly enjoyed the music. Veseella was given a tremendous ovation. Tbe couoerts on Sunday are free. There waa a fair attendance at tbe coucerts on Monday and Tuesday, much larger, however, than the orchestra drew to the pavilion. To Help Babies' Fond. Club Beturdey afternoon, when tbe team representing this organization easily won tbe surf casting loumatneut and retained the handsome trophy— (he Ocean City Cup— for another year. There were two olher contestant*— the A»buiy Parle Fishing Club, which prior to lo»«t summer, bed held the cup for two years, and the Long lalaud Casting Club. Asbury Parle's representatives mode a gallant fight, but "break*" eariy la (be game put them out of the running. Tbe IjO ng Island boys, too, suffered from three break* of lines while tbe coolest was young, and tbey were, therefore, almost from the beginning, not formidable rivals. The Ocean Ctty team threw well carefully and consistently. Tbey took a commanding position from tire start and were never closely pressed.
