I It was stated that Harry Headley'a views did not agree with ttioee of other member* of the committee. He believes this lot too expensive. William E. Masaey said that Mrs. J. L. Baker, of the Oceanic Hotel, was out of towu and could not be reached, but she was In favor of the Seventh street locatlou. Dr. Corson stated that tbe committee had figured tbe cost of the various plots by the square foot, and tbe lot at Seventh street was thus found to be considerably cheaper. 'The proposed hotel must be one with distinctive features, be aald. Ills generally conceded that a hotel will benefit tbe surrounding property. Tfali hotel would have more land In tbe plot than It actually requires for a hotel building and with tbts additional land It would have this asset and beuefll thereby. The following self-explanatory note was read at the weekly meeting of the City Commissioner*: * To the Hoard of Commissioners' of the city of Oceau City, N. J.-— Gedtlemeu:— Owing to the high cost of labor, etc., we hereby a«»k to be released from coutracl to collect rubbish aud ashes for the season 1920. Respectfully yours, Portkr-Smith CO. On motion of Director Campbell, the letter was ordered tiled for future acliou. A check for |50 was received by City Clerk Morris from A. C. Boswell as quarterly returns from tbe Boardwalk sub-post office. The report of Mr. Boswell lu connection with the check was accepted aud the money ordered turned Into the city treasury. The monthly report of the building inspector, with a check for 63, was received and the money turned luto the city treasury. The same action was followed In the report of the city electrician, who enclosed a check for 634. Health officer T. Director Fisher, at the weekly meetlug of the City Commissioners, speaking of the Illumination of the street*, nald that the present system must be changed. Borne of the summer lights that were taken oil at the usual time, October 1, must at leasl be temporarily restored. Iu localities where two or three families of the summer cottager* remain the city should try to eucouragc them as much as possible with street lights. Mayor Champion suggested that this matter was lu Director Fisher's department. "If there are no objections," aald Mr. Fisher, "I'll continue the ligbte." While nothing was said at tbe meeting.
