HONOR DR. SENSOR Resolutions Adopted by State Summer School The late Dr. T. D. Sensor, founder of the State's Summer schools, was held in the highest esteem by ail j those attending the Ocean City State Summer School, where he was active until stricken by disease early last year, which resulted TnV,hi- absence : the school last summer. Miss ChaNotle Herknor and George C. Baker, i Whereas, it seems fitting that at memorial exercises held this afternoon in honor of Mr. Thomas Sensor, we his associates and coj workers in the educational system of New Jersey, should record an ap- ! prcciatiun of those attributes which placed him in the foremost ranks of I educational leaders of his State ) and country; those of us who are as- . scmbled at the Ocean City Summer ! present this testimonial of his I valued service to New Jersey which . mi well known to all — service as | teacher, principal, superintendent president of local boards of educaI tions, lecturer, secretary of the State of examinations, chief of the of credcntians. and pre-emi-nently as founder and dean of the Jersey State Sugyncr School. , fn all these activities, his services proved him a man of exceptional 1 educational force, whose leadership caused vocational and agricultural training ^n New Jersey to stand out ' most prominently. In founding, promoting and iteeloping the Slate summer schools, beginning fifteen years ago, wjth the j discouragements, much op- , position and with the great personal , and professional sacrifices which at- ' tended the moverflent in the early ' years, we acknowledge the debt we owe to his foresight and "vision, his j undaunted courage and unswerving^ loyalty, his resourcefulness and" In- . defntigable efforts in perfecting the State Summer Schools which stand , (••lay as a monument tcwhis memory. We who knew- him most intimately ' h- member him as one who held the highest aims and ideals for education* whose every contest with teacher* was to encourage and Inspire them ■ nobler service, and who was untiring In hi* efforts in upholding the , caui-c of better education with the ■ many social, business and profession- : , I organizations with which he was affiliated and with whom he met. o 1 1 DOTS The Sentinel's subscription list is j growing daily.
