Hostess 'House opened its iloors wide and served delicious and wholesome soup; automobiles were, at their disposal all day; Boy Scouts Rave wonderful service; as did the Ocean City Red Cross Society. The Bethany Presbyterian Church Rave use of their tents on the I -each; C. E. Breckley. painter ami Mr. Haywood artist of the Evening Ledgrr, ruvc their services, there were a number of others too numerous to mention who did everythinR to show these children a Rood day. The Methodist Church basement was headquarters for prc- / parinR food, and the Wayne apartment basement were used as p bath house. Every business house, troth large and small of Ocean Cjtjr contributed most magnanimously; the cruller and pop com men gave of their store; every church and organization <Jf all 1 denominations collected large sums The hotel* were' most generous, Mrs. Elizabeth Candy's house, comer 4th street and Wesley avenue, being the banner house having contributed $188, and the individuals who collected turned in large sums. The dog, putches, led by Mr. Cooper on the Board- ; walk Saturday evening, was quite a success, collecting $110. An entertainment was given them in the Music Pavilion, in which Mrs. A. M. Gray led the children in • spirited "community sing" and master David Levy, entertained with a song. _ • Many thinks are extended to every church, organisation, business firm, hotel, and individual who contributed in any way to make the day the grand success that it was, says Mrs. Ella Harold Coaaaboom, who was active In the work.
