THOIGHTHI.JK/I^RIWS There has been much prai-e accordcdjhe Philailelphia Rotary Club, and praise that is deserved, for its kindIj action of last week, when the nifml>ers brought more than 1000 poor boys to this resort from Philadclphia for a day's outing. \ The youngsters never spent nine 1 hours , more enjoyably, anil they returned to the hot streets of the city where they came from. They ap? preciatcd. thy their actions, at least, the thoughtfulnc** of their lienefactBut while the boys were clad, they - were not more so than the men themselves. The Rotarians entered into the spirit of the occasion with much rest, and all did everything possible to muke the day memorable for their young guests. The city officials, too, co-operated with the club members in looking after the safety of the boys. THE South Ocean City Improvement Association has an energeticpresident in the person of George W. Patton, ami he is ably assisted by the secretary", Charles D.' Hits, without whom the organisation, it would seem after his years of service, could scarcely have its being. The members of the Association. , with such, live wires as Thou. H.\ Edwards; Is a great factor in progres- | siveness in that section of the re- , sort. They have big plans for the future, which are bound to be helpful to Ocean City as a whole, al- 1 , though the cottagers in South Ocean c CUv are a unit in insisting that they , hart the only worth-while part of the „ island. Of course, there are some „ living in other sections of the resort r who may Hot subscribe to this view. ; t We're all agreed, however, (fiat Ocean h City is the greatest family resort in 7 the world. THE limit of speeding within the p City of Ocean City is about twelve g miles an hour. Near schools the traffic law of the State of New Jer- ti sey specifies a lower speed than this. » In ease of fire, motorists are to stop h their machines on the right hhnd side f, of 0»e road so as to permit the fire C1 apparatus to have the right of way. h All street cars are also to stop on h the approach of the apparatus. The R ignoring of these laws are under the |u 8tate law punishable by fine and the - Department of Public Safety intends to enforce these ordinances. A word to the wise is sufficient THE members of the first Presbyterian Church of this dty have arranged for their church's anniversary ! celebration this week, and there will be a pleasing reunion of the friends of this religious organisation. The Presbyterian Church has prosper*! wonderfully in Oeean City, particularly during the last ton or twelve years, and all the residents, a» well as large numbers af the visitors, join in congratulation* end the hope that it will continue to grow in prosperity and usefulness. _ VISITING autoraobilists, here without the required State license, will have no excuse if they arMtickcd up, - •taken to the police J^tfaarterx and ; fined heavily. Warnings have been • frequent, yet there are still many auto owners who have not taken out the required State license. State Inspector Lovctt has the names and numbers of many who have thus far paid no attention to warnings. Tm. next move will be along lines that will not be pleasing to those flagrantly violating the State laws. THE Sentinel has frequently warned visitors against the danger of ( going out in small boats, especially ' if they are unfamiliar with the handling of such craft in seashore waters. But warnings appeqr not to have much effect 011 the thoughtless. There was a case in point only a short time since, when only the lucky appearance ami prompt aetion of Richard l*dig, a well known cottager, saved
