Don't! worry gentle reader the boys were *' eijy on a "Treasure Hunt." This is] one of the fa\4u-|tc pastimes. A band of two or tnreo boys under the' leadership of a counselor, .goes first ! and makes a chalked arrow trail. Al ! intervals they hide a "Treasure", con- j sitting of candy, a stingy cap or an arm band, or something similar. The boys look for the treasure mark and when this is found there is a wild scramble. When the treasure is found ' thev follow the arrows to the next treasure. They always come back from a treasure hunt tired hut, , happy. The daylight saving plan gives us long evenings to provide for. Mr. : Faupce, Miss Doughty ami Frank ' i'latt, the manager of the Hippodrome, have come to our aid. They i permit us to take the boys to their , lesppeUve theatres one afternoon per , week. We have to pay the war tax only. This has been a great help to , us as it has filled up three after- i noons a week. , We certainly appre- i ciate the. kindness of these three peo-' pie. The other afternoons in the week are taken up "by hall games and similar athletic contests. One or perhaps twp evenings per v.eek we have a "Camp Fire." The !*>>•* an.! grown ups assemble around the open fire place in the recreation room. The boys collect drift wood along the bay front for this occasion. A humorous incident might be nientionod In connection with this practice. It has lieen the custom to !pnd new campers after tent wrench- ' sky hooks, the key to the oar locks and similar types of hardware, borne of the- more sophisticated of the camper? refused, on % these: gmuuds to go after drift wood. . Some of the residents of Ocean City offered their enrages as hath houses for the boys. Hags were provided in which thq boys placed their clothes.
