0 -Water mains. Inadequacy of the " present service. This matter is of, vital importance to all persons having property interests in Ocean City. 6 Completion by the City Gus ' Light Co. of improvements planned, as to render more efficient service. 7 Opposition to any increase in 1 present water rates. ( 8 Present method of taxation for ' sewer rentals. 9 Question of railroad fares (commutation, etc.) for the coming season ' and the retention for a longer season ' of a convenient train service. ( Efforts made anil work accom- ' plished by the League for the year ' ending August, 1921, as taken from . the annual" report of tl* president: ! 1 We prevented the holding of n | municipal election which was for the. | purpose of securing the consent of' , Ocean City residents to sell the Compi Ground. 2 Wc obtained temporary injunction against the sale of saiit Camp ' ; Ground. 1 i 3 Our Committee on Gas met the ' . City officials of Ocean City, and repI resentatives of the City Gas Light Company in the interest of better l service. This has led to large exi penditures by the gas company who ' supplied better service for 1921 with: prospects for further improved serv- | ice for the coming years. 4 Our Committee on Railroad i Fare* and Transportation work hard , during the year, hoping to secure low- 1 er rates. Their efforts were not successful. We believe we made favor-
able impression upon the companies, which we trust will be fruitful latev J 5 We held a meeting of the mem- | liers of the League in Philadelphia, jj, . January C, 1921, which was well, and Fenthusiastically attended, i 6 Music. Meetings upon this suls- |. , ject were attended by members of our I Executive Committee, subsequent to our annual meeting. There was con- D 'f aiderabie deficit in finances to meet the ' season's expenses. This information ( cdnveyed to ua, and without using \ any of the League's funds, but by prii vate subscription entitrely, though I I done in the name of the league, and. - the money passed through our treasury, five hundred dollars was contrij and paid toward said deficit. Q 7 The League waa represented by "t members of your Executive Committ before the Utility Commissioners of New Jersey in the hearings pertain1 ing to sewer and gas rate*. • We have held a number of Execu- t " tive Committee meting* during the ' year and believe we have rendered Ocean City Ux payer* a real service. J We have also held conferences and ,, correspondence with Mayor Champion and others in the interest of Ocean a City tax payers. h We believe every Ocean City tax e payeras interested in the meeting as " per this notice. We are desirous of ] * increasing our membership and if you have not joined the League, we hope- ( ^ you will at once" or on the night of j. the meeting.
