V^GftftfcrTMJkS HINTS Department Mr.lte* Suggestions foi Wrapping Package* The Pf.;y Office Department is n-ak >ng preparation* t.. handle the usual heavy rush o? Christmas mail. and we most heartily ask the public to cooperate by being careful in preparing parcel post package*. The public may he surprised to leam that hundreds of packages come into the Post Office in bad condition, some with the wrapping paper torn off. due to the use of thir. or poor paper, some with string that has slipped partly or entfrely off, others, addressed with pencil, have been rubbed until the address ia not legible. If care were 'taken in preparing the packages the Department would not he delayed in handling this class of mail anil It would be received in prop- , er condition instead of being damaged or perhaps lost in the mail. Kindly heed the few suggestion?: offered. Wrap all packages with good stout paper, tying with strong string. Use ink for the address and place' the addre** inside of package as well as on the outside but put no other writing within. Place the aemler's name on the upper left hayd corner. You may also place "Not to be opened until Christmas" on the outside of i package. Last but not least of suggestions, please mail packages early, i Do not wait until a few dart before ! Christmas. ONE FOUXDEBER LEFT Rev. James E. Lake Only SurvivorOrganized in 1884 3 It was not until 1RS4 that Ocean f City was organized as a borough, and not until 1897 did it become a city. . There was no railroad to the resort get to Peck's Beach came over by I .oat . from Somcrs Point. Of those who , founded the city, there remains now I only the Rev. Dr. James E. Lake. Doctor Lake and his father and founded the resort on Christian principles, and although there have been many attempts to swing it from its early moorings. Doctor Lake lias been able to successfully defend its early traditions. Sometimes, almost singlehanded, has he fought to do so. The result^* that Ocean City has become known as a Christian resort and has attracted person* who wanted their families to summer in a Christian atmosphere.

„ Tfu' ""me »f lake will always be re- ■ j mcmbored by those who have learned j. lo carp for Ocean City by reason of , ^ her moral atmosphere. Certainly Ocean City must some day put in r some fitting and lasting form, a tribute * to Doctor Lake and his brothers. ' n lots 938 and 935. Section A. Jess V. H.
