ANNIVERSARY OF PASTORATE This week mark.* 'the fifth anniver- ■ ity of the Pastorate of Rev. Maple M. Is- wis, at the First Baptist Church. Wednesday evening the pastor prel>arrd some picture* and charts which he had thrown on the screen with the lantern, showing in a concrete way how the .work has progressed in the liast five years. The .church records show The pastorate beginning December 1st, 1916, with 56 members, of which number 24 ' have been lost by death and removal from the city. To the 32 remaining there have been added 45 new members or an average of one each month during the nine months' winter activity of the church. The five years have made a considerable difference in the income of the. church, changing it from 31,406, total income*in 1916, to that of $5,147, during the fifth year, which was not the best financial year of the five. The envelope contribution* from the members have l>een raised from $310 per year to $1,925 per year. A total of $8,740 has been raised for building and renovating purposes anil the total money raised 'by the Church, Sunday School, Ladies' Aid Society and Building Fund in five years has totaled $33,000. On Sunday morning the pastor will preach and Communion service follows. The choir have arranged special music for both morning and evening, under the leadership of Mr. Oowdar, The public are invited. The Veterans of Foreign Wars under the leadership of Mr. Maurice Wriggins will be present in a body at the evening service and the pastor will preach an appropriate sermon. LEAVES CHELSEA M. B. CHURCH -Rev. William K. Fisher, for many '■•ars editor of the Ocean City Ledger, under the Lake regime and later- pasl'ir of the Kaign avenue, M. E. Church of Camden, has resigned the pastorate of the Chelsea M. E. Church. Atlantic t'itfiS where he has been preaching for the last year and a half. Mr. Fisher notified the district superintendent a month ago that he deired to be relieved and asked if possible that a successor should take charge the first of this month, but in order that more time might be had to properly care for this important field the pastor consented to stay until the last •Sunday in this month.
