CHURCH Pi of. take seems to be gathering talent ami still more ' talent as the weeks go by, and the rendition of some of the -selections shows beyond doubt the vision, the conception and fine interpretation of the conductor. "These Are They," sung by Mrs. Florence Anderson, from Gaul'&"Holy City," wa.» a very attractive number but Sunday evening. Mrs. Anderson is Tather a new soloist in Ocean City, and a very valuable addition to our musical talent. For next Sunday evening the pa»tot will address the P. O. S. of A., on a patriotic subject and Prof. Lake announces the choir will sing the "Sextette," from Lucia, not in the quartet arrangement, but in the full original six part score. It would amply pay some of you good folks, who rarely go to church, to spend the evening hearing Dr. Hondley, who has lieee to the front and from his large life experience, know* just how to say the things beautifully, but without loss of the substance. By that we mean, that while many orators by the mere flower of expression fhil to convey* the idea, the pith of the matter, which the speaker should desire to impress. Dr. Handley seems superior in the fact that while at time* couched in beautiful phrases and climaxes of expressing the strength of thought is got sacrificed. Last Saldiath was a rather inclement (Vening but the church was packed, -p if you would get a comfortable seat you hail better go early and enjoy n service that few people in Ocean City really realize is as hoc-

beautifully, conducted, helpful ami beneficial as any in the State.

A Pioneer is "one who goes . before, as into the wilderness, preparing the way for mi others to follow." It is not always necessary that he wear a coonskin J** cap and carry a rifle. er Whcijtnc young Alexander Graham Bell forty-six o» years ago first sent a voice over a wire by means of an '»'• electric current he was a Pioneer, going forth into the little known wilderness of c.ectrical science. ot Since that day every development of the telephone has been a pioneering feat. There have been no guide n- posts to point out the way; no route maps to show *• "which were the smooth roads and which the rough oftcs. „[ And Bell Telephone "pioneers" who are today planning for millions of subscribers five, ten and twenty au years hence are "preparing the way for others to follow." nt" Every community served by the Bell System profits bv this arrangement. A discovery in California, Texas R.- or Maine is at once available right here in our own he state. 1 f the pioneers in our company find something to at improve telephone service it is at the disposal of every £ office in the system where it might properly be used. <• vj Only by such an organization has the Bell System , of today been madepossiblc, and only by its continu- * * ance is future progi^ assured.
