S. ) (Wildwood H. S.) Schoolboy lia.'ketball sensations n among the Cdpe May County High £ School quintets in recent years hare * proved few and incidentally scarce. • This part season has proved no exception to the rule. Several years ago Wildwood High School boasted of a fj lanky blond youth named Uvesey, who played center on the Spashore High *' School five, performed in the hackfield * on the gridiron eleven, was a sprinter and also played baseball. Livesey was . considered one of the greatest all- w around schoolboy athlete .developed at Cl the shore in the past few seasons. But. " Liveney's days have past into oblivion and Ocean City High has a candidate for the highest athletic honors in one lr Scott Adams, who like his predecessor is elongated in appearanace, has blond hair and also boasts of winning his " insignia' in all four major sports. Incidentally Adams by his brilliant Jj playing on the wooden court through- I out the past season easily deserves £ recognition as the best center in Cape May County and he therefore, holds the pivot position of the Cape MayCounty all-high school five. Adams j with a comparatively weak team this' past season, owing to the loss of Rossj ' Ferguson, the veteran Ocean City High forward left school, copped high ; scoring honors for the year and <**4b> — demonstrated his ability in the cruefl ' tilts of the season. He is eighteen' years old and will be available for1 basketball next season. Adams without a doubt is the only •tar that sparkles from the 1921-22 scholastic basketball year in this county. Eddie Barron, one of Ocean City High School's speedy forwards and Hooven are the honor player* on the — first team. Barron displayed great form fo rthe Maroon and White passers throughout the season while Hoot- j en also showed well for Wildwood. Another Marnot und White lad — ! George Gardiner, captain of last sea- ' 4 son's football eleven occupies one of the guard pos.s. while Marcy, of Cape; May Court House, secures the other! one. Gardiner, a veteran of several . seasons and with plenty of experience easily secures the defense berth. Two on Second Tram Coach U tiger's proteges number two «i i'nr second mythical ail-high five. Thav are 'Tony" Selvaign, who if he could play on the indoor court like ha performs on the gridiron would be a star of the first calibre, and Bill Gibb, the lanky guard. While the latter is a veteran of several seasons he cannot surpass Gardiner or Marcy and must, therefore 1« placed on the sec-" ond quintet. Penelcoff, of Wildwood High School, is runner up to Adams at center, while Ol -.on, of Wildwood. and Oncrato, of the same institution easily capture the other forward and guard post respectively. Basketball as a scholastic sport very seldom produces n great number of stars in a single season, but the several that are pronounced of the highest calihrc by high school coaches are usually "all they turned out to be NEW SHOE HOSPITAL Vincent TranquiHu, who has been * \ resident in the city for several years I past will in the, near future remove to 809 Anbury avenue. Hollingsworth. and his arsistant Leo Kanke. from instantaneous death .when one of Lit Bros' trucks, which they were riding, was struck by .a ppedal freight train on fourteenth street. The impact was terrific. The engine 1st ruck the truck right in the middle [and hurled it thirty feet into the air. What transpired afterwauls is utterjf frihxplieable. The man Kanke, who was hurled into the air by the force of the collision, escaped without injury; but 'the driver. Hollingsworth, who held to the seat, is! suffering from injury to the knee, and shock which has temporarily affected his heart.
