MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS FINE PROGRAM AT FIRST M. E. CHURCH DR. HANDLEY ANNOUNCES SPECIAL TOPIC— HIRAM MOWRKR PLANS SCH04U. SERVICE AND BANQUET The coming Sabbath will be observed through out the length anil .brettth of the latul as Mothers' anil Daughters' Day. The annual observance of the day ^ has'hecome a national institution of . \ first rank importance. Very fitting it ' is, that one day of the year, should be devoted to mother, God's richest gift to humanity with the exception of one. The unit of national life is the 1 home; and home is no home without a mother. In every church throughout the en- - tire civilised world our ministers will | discuss various phases of the relationship between mother and daughter. ! The First Methodist Church in the
city has arranged for a remarkable series of services, which cannot fail to create in the minds of ail the young people who will avail themselves of the services, a i lee per regard for parental authority and love. In the morning service at 10.80 Dr. John HaniHev will take for his subject -Saintly and Earthly Mothers. Past anil Present." He will be assisted ,in the service, by the Mothers' Jewels W the primary department of the Sabbath School. This should prove a . charming innovation. In the evening the service will be given over to Mothers and Daughters. Several daughters will deliver choice selections- upon the subject, one of them being the beautiful poem on' Grace Darling. Wednesday evening the Sunday SehocjL Superintendent, Hiram Mowrer. agisted by some of the School official staff, will have a special servi«yfor the mothers and daughters. FHlav evening will see the crowning feature of the festivities, when the mothers will banquet the daughters. Elaborate preparations are being made and an enjoyable evening to all promised-.. AU mothers and daughters the church and Sunday school are cordially invited to be present and participate. Last Sunday was a great day in the First M. E. Church when 24 persons were officially received into the church by letter and on profession of faith?" The pastor delivered a special address on the fundamentals of Christianity based on the Apostles Creed, after which the members of the official board came forward and extended to them the right hand of Christian ' Fellowship. The celebration of the sac- • rament e? the Lord's Supper which followed was one of the largest in th^i history of the church.
