Director Life Saving. v< In his patriotic zeal and enthusiasm m for Ocean City, CapL Jemee has de- . fc cided to name his divice, "The Ocean u« C3ty Life Booy." ti, A sample is being prepared for thorough test and examination. The Can Booy will be ebout 12 inches in ? dimensions, painted white and bearing ' the insignia of the Red Crods, and letters A. R. C-, in blue. Attached to . the can will be the life lire. With the first aid side of a guard's duty, that of resuscitation ami the promotion of artificial respiration, and caring for the injured, he is perfectly., familiar and at hoc*, and is the offlrial examiner of the Atlantic District ~ Under his supervision this summer. *• CapL Jemee will have a corps of men well trained, sewral of whom haw ■ecu service in ti* United States' "tL, of the guards who are not accredited A. Ocean City will haw four well appointed hospitals in operation during the season, with Dr. Haines. United States Public Health Officer in charge as Beach Surgeon. There will be a new hospital at Plymouth place. The old coast guard look out has been remodeled into ac ernereiigy hospital. The scheme of decorations was designed, to make the A hospital as conspiriou- as possible, as far as consistent with zstoir.f and artistic appearance. The roof is painted red, side* white, and the window sashes in green. The letters "0 C. Capt Jemee Will insist upon rigid discipline from every man while on duty. As be said, they are there to protect the public, and each man must be upon his toes, so to speak. A breach of discipline, or neglect of fluty will be visited with summary Justice. In his opinion. CapL Jemee believes, and rightly, that discipline should be as strictly observed among the guards, as in the U. S. Navy. Be it said, however, the job for CapL Jemee and his men, thirty all told, will be no sinecure with eight miles of beach under surveillance.
