RICHARDS ELECTED AS ACTIVE MEMBERS OF YOUNG MEN'S PROGRESSIVE LEAGUE

The chief topic of discussion at < the last meeting: of the Young < Men's Progressive League, was the forthcoming visitation of the ; Cape May organixation, of the e same name and character. r The Cape May League, it might t be explained, is an offspring of the r Young Men's Progressive League v of Ocean City, and obviously the

: closest ami most friendly relations exist between the two. The local League, has upon two ■ separate occasions, been royally i entertained by Cape May, and ail members of the former organiza tion, arc eager to return the compliment in the same spirit and I with the same liberality. An answer was read from the |

Secretary of the Cape May League, accepting the invitation tended, with a suggestion that a. Thursday would be a suitable day] for the event. i There was a consensus of opin1| ion among the members in favor | of adopting as far as possible the suggestion of the Secretary of the j Cape May League, and eventually | jit was decided to invite them to! T visit Ocean City, on Thursday; j evening November 2nd. ! it was felt that the local orga-; J nization could not satisfactorily entertain their guests in the reg3 | ular meeting room, ow ing to the I limitations of room and space. Curiosity runs high as to the .

, prise, and some very original spect ulalions have been volunteered. Those informed however, are > guarding their se.-ret very care- >' fully, and nothing remains for the r curious, but to attend the Smoker . | on Monday, and there learn of its f ; nature. This much has been hint- . oil .that it is of sufficient import- . ance, to warrant the attendance of . | every member. j Sonic .discussion arose concern- • ' ing the condition of the street, j ' Anbury Avenue, by reason of the , ! improvements being made at the i j crossings. The members of^Jhe . | League were of the opinion, that . 1 detour signs should be placed at the places indicated, for the con- ; ■ vcnicnce of motor traffic. 1 1 The unsightliness of the Camp . ground, with Its superabundant i crop of grass and weeds, was also i to the attention of the - meeting. As stated, the grounds this year , presented a wilder and more neglected appearance than ever, hav- • as one jocularly expressed it, "not received a hair cut" through The Camp grounds could with very little care and expense, he made one of the most beautiful | , spots on the Island.
