FOR MB LANG SYNE TWEN1YYEARS AGO t. lee ADAMS BANQUETS the MEMBERS OF BOARD OF HEALTH One of the important social functions in the week's calender, in Ocean City, Twenty Years Ago, appear* to have been the unique banquet, which T. Lee Adams, Secretary to the Board of Health, ten- j tiered to the members of the Board at his residence, 752 Aabury Avj enue. The [flair appears to have been one of aome magnitude, and elaborate preparations had been made ' for the entertainment of the 1 guests. A singularly attractive and 1 unique bill of fare was served, in the order aa follows: Oysters, Half Shell 1 Devilled Crabs Mustard Pickles Stuffed Olives]1 Celery Stewed Terrapin Fried Oysters ' Chicken Salad Roquefort Cheese Coffee lee Cream Cake ®
Nuts Grapes F A feast for an Epicure without A question; with something to test ir and tempt the moat fastidious pah]" nte. F Among the guests invited for the occasion we note the names of P some, who happily are still able to b enjoy a good dinner, and could do P the above menu as much justice now, as they could then, Mayor dl Joseph G. Champion, E. M. Sutton, ° and R. C. Robin Bon. " Twenty Years Ago, the Rev. * John H. Boswell was pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church. 0 Dr. Boswell was intensely In- ® le rested evidently in the boys of * Ocean City, and among other ; 0 things for their well-being, Twen- C ty Years Ago he organized a Boys' * Brigade. Some difficulty was experienced ° in finding a suitable place for driH J ling, but evidently this was over- " It should be interesting to old ® timers in the basket ball arena; to read of the teams which were or P ganited in Ocean City, TwentyYears Ago, with Jessie Stephen- ' son as Manager. n Mr. Stephenson was also named * treasurer of the organization. Two ° teams were duly and properly or e ganixed. - ® He first team was composed of 1 Charles Sthurch, as center, Occr.r e Morey end Harry Steeiman playing forward, A. L. Smith and I Charles Brockley as guards. For f substitutes to the first team, Chas. P Sampson, and Jessie Stephenson 1 were named. a The second team included, Jos- b eph Schock, Joseph Morey, Leroy Morey, Irving Hand, and Ralph < It was decreed that both teams a should have the same kind and! quality of unform; to wit, "white, j > sleeveless shirts, with a fourinch - blue sash running diagonally over I i the front, blue pants and stockings t to match. The letters O. C. were i to be worked on the shirts in or^ ange color." 1 Whatever may have been the aggregation's record, their uni- I forms were certainly spectacular. : Negotiations were in progress to t open the Masai with a game • against the ♦—»" of Company No. ' 1, Third Regmient, N.
