thtphiuitheas entertain the baptist barragae
LARGE ATTENDANCE OF BOTE BIBLE CLASSES AND FRIENDS The ladies of the Philathea Bible Class, associated with the First Baptist Church, entertained the members of the Barraca Class fot a social hour, in the parlors of the church, on Friday evening last. Both classes were well represented and in addition, there were many friends not identified with either of the classes. Mrs. Wilbur Ackiey, commander-in-chief of the Philatheas, acted as toast mistress for the occasion performing the duties of her office in most charming anil efficient manThc toast mistress succeeded admirably in infusing a spirit of perfect cordiality and homeyness into the assembly, the meeting being entirely free from cold formalism and austere ceremony. CapL A. R. Smith, president of the Barraca Class, gave free rein to his fund of wit and humor, in an address which kept the audience convulsed with laughter. P. J. Evans, Superintendent of the Bible School, took occasion to detail at length the functions of an organised class, and incidentally stated that the Baptist Bible School, would in the course of a few weeks, be up to the requirements of a Standard School. During the winter the average ttendance had not been below 80 per cent of the enrollment. Dr. Milton G. Buck, expressed his pleasure In being present, and participating in so enthusiastic a gathering. The close intimacy of spirit and co-operation between the two classes augered well for the future of the church. Clayton Haines Brick followed with one of his characteristic speeches, full of humor and good counsel. As chairman of the finance committee, in connection with the building of the new church, Mr Brick detailed at some length the ! plans in course of maturing. To the infinite gratification of all present, Mr. Brick expressed himself confident, that the cam- . paign being carried on under his direction, would be an unqualified success, the responses already received being liberal and substantial. Miss Heiss, teacher of the Philathea Class, was idnuced to contribute a brief talk, in addition to a humorous reading previously rendered. The remaining part of the program, included two very pleasing songs effectively sung by Clinton Lowden, an amusing recitation byMrs. Boo*, and a delightful reading by Mrs. Niekerson. The ladies then served refreshments to which all did ample justice, enjoying in fullest measure the social hour. Confident that these united meetings will prove of inestimable value,, both to the classes and the school, It waa taetily understood that beginning with the opening of next autumn's schedule of work, they would be more frequently J SOAPSUDS | No. L. I suppose you dont know that coal is sometimes washed. Well, it is! S' fact! In the anthracite field* in Pennsylvania they have what are known as breakers or w«sheries, and one of these structures was destroyed only last week by fire. The loss was estimated at $150,000. Now, this anthracite needs to be washed before it is used by the people, just like their clothes need to be washed sometimes before they are ready for use. It stands to sense also that If this coal laundry was a regular humdinger, then it is going i to I* miseil somewhat. Some peopie like coal washed just so, especially that duns of people who have I grown into the anthracite habit, which is rather a costly one. These people have pronounced preferences and are not often misled. They know what's what and they have that determination ingrained which consistently demands THE BEST. It will be some time perhaps before they get a laundry just like the last one, and they may get a, serious cold in the meantime, t _ .. .. Where do you have your -washing done — your cloths and clothes, etc? Do you deal with a . second-rate concern or with a laundry out of town? Why not do business with us, right here in your own town. This washery is just in the place where you can look after it best. 'We want to serve you, but you must extend to us the opportunity to do so. We are not going to let you miss us, either by ignorance of our select service, or by our falling short of your esteemed requirements. Memorize this telephone number and call us up at any time that you need things done "just bo." Once you experience the delight* of our serving, you will call again and often. Telephone 117-J for the Ocean City Luundry Company. Yours to the hurt and only d'oylle. Jimmie Boy.

5000^>mes had to go without ARCOLA because they waited till Fall
TO 5,000 families in 1921 came a real disappointment. There weren't enough Arcolas to fill thenorders— and'they shivered through the winter with stoves or an oldfashioned heating plant. Three times as many homes are being built this year as in 1921. And we can make only the same number of Arcolas as in 1921 because orders for larger Ideal Boilers have already over- taxed our factories.
» The popularity of Arcola is tre- > mendous. It is the only satisfactory r heating plant for the small home. i Gives you a genuine American Radiator in every room. Perfect protection for the children against ; colds and grippe. So economical that it pays for itself in the faeHt ; saves. Please help us to avoid disappointi ing you next Fall.
