"The Baptist," a weekly journal j published under the auspices of the Northern Baptist Contention, as; its olTicial organ is read it is esti-| mated by several millions of people i scattered over every state in thej In the present week's issue, pub-: lished in anticipation of the great Convention to be held in Atlantic City the coming month, contains , the following paragraphs concern- . inir this resort: this

"Seven miles south of Atlantic City is an island eight miles long arfd one mile wide upon which is located Ocean City — the greatest family resort in America. "Baptists comp from all over the I states; they either visit or own - their own homes. Last summer : Her. M. G. Bock, who has lately ; gone 10 Ocean City, had twentyseven states and seven different t countries represented in the gath- i cring. "Plans are now under way for c the building of a new church which

will cost $50, 000 to $60,000. "More than half this amount has beon subscribed. It is expected to have it completed in 1921, which will give the society an up to date plant, which will be, including parsonage, worth 1100,000." Then on another page, describing various points of interest surrounding Atlntic City and the interesting trips awaiting visitors, the following fl-iftnrintr nbMmtnV. following flattering

are added: "A trip which allows the visitors a view of the inner section of the country and crosses Egg Harbor Bay is to Ocean City. It is a beautiful ride on a summer day or evening. dosed in Ocean City. It was originally a great Methodist campmeeting ground, and it has, despite all attempts otherwise, held to that solid goodness that really makes for character. 'The Lord's Day is a day of rest and only business that is absolutely necessary for the feeding of the body is allowed permission to open. "Ocean City is also undergoing a change as the summer residents are more und more becoming nll-the-ycar home dwellers. This last year the collection of toll was done away with, as the state had taken "oyer the' bridge, a Tact which should make for greater growth." This tribute and publicity to this resort in the official organ of a denomination numbering nearly twenty-three millions of people is more than gratifying and is indicative of the much wider publicity which will follow the meeting here

Fifty Thousand Miles of New Wire will be added to the Bell System in southern New Jersey this year Thats a tremendous increase in the total Bell wire mileage. This new ivirc alone would make a two wire telephone circuit around the world at the Equator. It would reach from ' Camden to Atlantic City more than 800 times. More wire was placed last year than in any previous year, and this year will far outstrip 1922. This is one phase of our effort to meet the demand for telephone service in southern New Jersey.
