. S1A - ^ ~ SCHOOL NOTES (Continued from Page Three) for preaching. It may seem a bit undignified nt first, but It's all get- | ting used to the thing. Oh, what poSriliilities. F: — H — THK CHILD WHO KNEW A Httle girl five year sol.l, of'f foreign parentage, was found lost . near Ninth and Asbury avenue last . " Saturday. . , Adolphia was a charming little j miss, but that was not the point. r Most people weep when they find a child lost. This little girl did ! ' not weep. She stood right up anil not one siooo ngm up aim

answered questions without batting an eye. She knew the most remarkable things. She knew her own full name, and her street and number. She knew that her father had a ; ' telephone. In just fifteen minutes the father ; came, after being notified by tele- j phone, and took her home. | And to think so many thousands t of children should reach the age j of five years without knowing' these simple things. | J Boys and girls of our schools.!' you now hrve something to do. To ' night lie fore putting your little j .. I...*!,., I.. ]u„l /if iiaii nrp sister brother bed are|

fortunate enough to havc one),; teach them the thing.* that Adal-I phia knew. FINDING THEMSELVES In some of our towns and cities some of the social organizations > are holding a series of "find your- j self meetings, at which the high school seniors are given an oppor- j tunity to hear brief addresses by experienced business men and wo- j men, over matters affecting their, future. This sort of activity should be , | helpful' in any community and ^ could be organized by any body of ( thoughtful citizens. ( mougnuui citizens.

The trouble is that most boys ( «• and girls of high school age knowonly vaguely, if at all, what they j truly would like to do. The "find ( yourself, meetings give them an opportunity to think about the subject correctly and arrive at a . choice more intelligently. What are the boys and girls go- , ing to do when they graduate from ( ohurigh school June I65th, and , face the great problems of jobs . ami the future? It is none too j soon to begin to take this matter j under consideration. ( DISLOYAL TEACHERS Mrs. G. M. Minor, -President of ] the D. A. B., made a charge at a meeting in Washington, D. C., j some time ago, that 8000 school ( teachers in this country were dis-

loyal. We can assure Supt. Stevens that none of the 28 teachers in the public schools of Ocean City arc disloyal. -HHAPPKNING IN OTHER SCHOOLS Last week two girl students ' were suspended from the Univers- ' Ity of Maryland by President A. F. 1 Woods, for smoking cigarettes. ( They will not have girls in the ' University who smoke. 115 of the ' 125 students are standing by Dr. ' Woods. The ten who are backing ' the two suspended girls are on the ^ ragged edge of things and very ' low in their studies. Dean Mary Sawyer, of the f Brooklinc .High School, Brookline, I Mass., told the 150 members of the i senior class, recently in their audi- I torium, that some of them are a I disgrace to their sex. They come s here in limousines, some of them | c in taxis and in ways that make j C this school look like a stage door. 1 When the short skirl craze was 1 current, you wore your dresseg up ! v tp your Ipiees. Now that long \ I skirts are in fashion, your dresses j I trail in the dust You fill youri hair with doughnuts. You use j I rouge. Your flapper slang takes j the place of good English. It's go- j ing to stop right now. ] j The girls ngrecd that they would } stop. — I — I — ; J HELP FOR CORRESPONDENTS ! HAS ANYONE— i£ Elope.
