COMMISSION CHAMBERS ARE BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED WITH FLOWERS TV City Commissioners room at Cape May presented a very , picturesque appearance on Tues- ; i day at noon, when the newly ap-': pointed Commissioners met to |
properly organize. ! That the election of the three l Commissioners was to the sati*- i faction of the' electorate was evi- i denced by the large audience present to witness the induction. The ; popularity of the victorious candi- t dates was well established and as c missioners in his address, perfect I unanimity and eoncord exists be- t tween the members of the new board. h Frank B. Mccray, who was elect- n ed temporary chairman, requested 1: the retiring Mayor, F. J. Melvin, a to administer the oaths of office to to administer tne oauis or onice to
the commissioners-elect. Ex-Mayor Melrin after performing the duty congratulated the new commissionera and expressed it as his firm conviction that they would be faithful to the duties of their office and the welfare of the dty they served. Upon the resolution of Commissionel WentzeH, Frank B. Mecray was elected Mayor and Director of Public Safety and Public Affairs. Mr. WentzeH then presented a resolution appointing Leonard H. Da vies as Director of Revenue ami Finance, while in turn Mr. Wentzell was named Director of Streets and Public Improvements and Pablie Property. The new board of Commissionera agreed to meet on Thursday at 9 A. M., standard time. The members of the Young Men's Progressive League were much in eviilence at the induction | ceremonies. ComtuBMioner Wentzell interject- ' ed a little humor into the situation ! by gating he had displayed rare good judgment in assisting to el- ; ret Mr. Mecray as mayor, because' it would be his duty to make all public -speeches.
