BABY WEEK OPENED AT TWILIGHT HOUR IH CIH PAVILION UK. JAMES NIBLO, OF VENT-1' NUK DELIVERS AN IMPRESSIVE ADDRESS ! Baby; li'eek opened promisingly „„ Sunday evening with an unique; ' mi light community service held I the Music Pavilion on the "Walk. ' The Rev. Joseph H. Watts, Rec- 5 ,„r 0f Holy Tftnity Church, con- I ■loiteii the introductory part of the 'I nervier. while Mrs. J*ilia Hazard, ! pie- "tent of the Seashore Home for Rallies presided. In her opening remarks, Mrs. I Hazard gave an interesting resum? t "f (he work done by the Golden, t I'ule Society, in founding the home t , outlinfll at length the program i prepared for Baby Week. I A very fine musical program was I rendered by several members of, f die famous Adelphi Quartette of Philadelphia, who also lol the !■ community singing. j* T»o resolutions were submitted g to Hie meeting by the chairman, t one ex pressing sympathy with the ii widow of the late President, and a another pledging loyalty to the a new President, both of which were o in silence by the audience. The Rev. James Niblo, D. D., of A Philadelphia, and Ventnor, was the a chief speaker of the evening. Dr. a Niblo presented Bn earnest appeal j in liehalf of the Home and the b splendid philanthropic work it was accomplishing. According to the i distinguished speaker, no more a suitable place for a Home of the j, character could lie found on the,t By reason of its traditional, character as a religious town, Dr. t Niblo expressed himself confident \ that the Home would not lack for a loyal and generous support. Noble thoughts and high ideals h ate of little value," siiil the speak- 0 er. unless translated into practical e deeds." . , i i: e Wherever men travel, India. China or Japan, the appeal of the „ child was irresistible. If that were true of pagan nations, it would I* everlastingly to the shame of a s Christian people ami city, if the s appeal were not met with a gener- p ous response. ; ii |ir Niblo further supported his appeal by declaring that some of n the leading thinkers of the age „ were entertaining grave fears for j the supremacy of the white race. £ against the rapid increase of the j ^'nXiew'of the fact therefore, " there remained not only an obligation. but a necessity upon the k White rare to make every effort to, f preserve the lives of all its children. ami properly educate them to J maintain their power and their a prestige among the nations of the earth. t Mr Niblo concluded his eloquent j address by extolling the duties and cares of child rearing and nurtivre „ as the sole remedy against many I u ' if the evils threatening the undermining of American Society. 1 "I have very seldom heard of a woman suffering from a nervous breakdown as a result of caring for: a child," said Dr. Niblo, "but 1 have heard of many arriving at such a deplorable physical condition by fondling poodle dog*." At the conclusion of the service a splendid photograph of tire late President Harding was thrown upon the screen, while the audience sang his favorite hymn, "Abide With Me."

FRATERNITY BOY FINED J. Keirheldefer was charged liefore Police Justice Ware with disorderly conduct un the Boardwalk. It transpired that accused, in company with several more, members ol a Philadelphia school fraternity were indulging in rowdyism at 12.M) o'clock early morning when Police Officer Fordney came upon : them.
