LOCAL REALTORS ENTER INTERCITY SPEECH CONTEST! RIG VAUDEVILLE ACTS SATURDAY AT THE MOORLYN THE FAMOUS PICTURE, "PALACE OF THE KING," WILL ALSO BE PRESENTED The management of the Moorlyn i Theatre have arrange*! a superb program for the coming Saturday. Five big acts of vaudeville will: I be presented, all of which promise to surpass in excellence anything yet seen or heard in this popular house. During the afternoon a matinee will be given especially for chil- ! dren, a convenience which parents appreciate very much. The special film production en- . titled "In the Palace of the King,"; will be thrown on the silver screed. This is considered to be one of the most artistic productions of the' year. The scenery beggars descri p- ! tion for beauty and artistic effect, , while the plot unfolded is one which holds one spellbound with its thrilling situations. An all-star cast has made this; period of history live again, and; revived scenes of splendor unknown; to the present prosaic age. Above all, the story conveys in a j most forceful manner a moral that) is most applicable to the age in ' which we live. Mrs. Van Gilder Entertained Friends , A very pleasant evening was' spent by a party of friends on Mon- j day at the home of Mrs. Ralph Van! Gilder, Thirteenth Street and Cen-i tral Avenue. |D1D ROY DARBY SEE A DEER? Strange Hallucination Has Taken Hold of Virtuous Young Man Evidently these arc strange days j in which we live ami strange happenings occur daily. I According to his statement, made : | in the most solemn and impressive munner imaginable, the well known ; , realtor was returning from New- [ ; . port, driving at a modest rate. < When out on the Weatheiby ( Road he espied a real honest-to- j : goodness specimen of the deer . •species, bounding playfully through I, the woods. Mr. Darby's manner j of illustrating the deer's action is highly entertaining and dramatic. ] Upon the surface the story indi- j cates that deer must be plentiful i this year, a piece of information j hunters will read with delight. But there are others who view the matter in a more serious light and fear that this virtuous young, . man has fallen upon evil ways and become the victim of hallucinations. It is affirmed that the deer &£* actually a rabbit, magnified under 1 the influence of a pre-Volstead bev- 1 erage. Someone has said that ob- i jjects magnify 100 per cent, with , every 10 per cent, of the prohibitive stimulant; consequently, by 1 j calculating how many times a deer is greater in bulk than a rabbit, a ( mathematician could calculate very closely the strength of the Coco i ; Cola sold in Newport. , Miss Minnie Massey, of Chester- 1 town, Md., was a visitor to this i ] resort during the past week, the , i guest of Mr. and Mrs. J.
