PROF. E. E. UN6ER RECEIVES 25,000 SEALSjOR SALE ik sale warrants, county may succeed in having TUBERCULAR CLINIC Prof. K. K. U tiger, Director of Physical Training in our Public Schools, returned from Washington with 25,0000 Christmas Seals, to be disposed of by children of our schools. Prof, linger has- supervised the sale of seals for several ; years past, and each succeeding; year the sales liuve been most gratifying in the amount of increase over preceding years. In the year, 1910, the sale of seals amounted to $83.00. In the following year, $100.00 was received. * The year 1921 brought $135,000, and last year's accumulation amounted to $108.00. This year an additional incentive is given to the sale. The credit . for all seals sold will be given to the county, and if of a sufficient amount, a County Tubercular Clinic will be established by the state. mental statistics. A tuberculosis death rate of 50 per 100,000, as compared with 150 in 1911 and 90 in 1922, may be .expected by 1930, according to Ix>uis ]. Dublin, statistician for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. There were 3,175 deaths from tuberculosis in New Jersey last year or 90.5 per 100,000 population, according to statistics issued by the State Department of Health. In Cape May County there were 13 deaths from tuberculosis last year. For every death from tuberculosis, it has been demonstrated by the Framingham experiment, that there are ten active cases, i. e„ 130 cases in our midst. A recent tabulation indicates that the rural death rate is much higher than in the cities in spite of the many occu- J pational hazards which exist in ; cities. In 1917, the rural death rate in New Jersey was 181 per* 100,000 as against 138 in the urban I. population. ' SATURDAY EVENING DANCE !i The young people who patronize jj the Saturday evening dunce, form- , erly Held in the Hahn Building, j tripped the fantastic toe in far more congenial surroundings on Saturday last, at the Biscayne Hotel. ' Elaborate preparations had been ; made for the dance, upon a floor in ! every respect ideal. The information is made that in i * future, these social gatherings will be held in. the Red Men's Hall.

! \ Word to Correspondents! During the pust weeks wc have . received several communications I which were obviously intended for publication. All are of interest/ and convey suggestions deserving I of serioua consideration. But, we cannot allow them toappear in our columns, for the rea- , son that the writers have not seen wise to add their proper names. We ask this merely us a mark of , confidence. If a correspondent de-j sires his letter to appeur under a nom de plume, the privilege i*j granted. But the proper name* must be also given, and will under no consideration by divulged by us. We do not hold ourselves rei sponsible for the views of our cor- j respondents, but we desire that our , ' readers should feel at liberty to express their views upon any question of public interest in our columns. ! The association, two years ago, revived the Night in Venice Carnival, and*laat year took a most active part in the same affair, contributing in no small degree to the success which attended the event. The members are justly proud of; their section of the city, and are contemplating several improvements which will still add to its beauty. | Family Reunion at Home of Mr. and Mrs. McClure i Mr. and Mrs. James McClure, of 818 Moorlyn Terrace, entertained, on Sunday,. Monsieur Loucheur, ablest financial mind In France, tells Americans, "You must put out of your minds all idea of getting the money that France owes you. Payment is impossible. Consider the stupendous sum France owes you.'* The amount that France owes us is a little over four billion dollars. Loucheur may be right, payment may be impossible. • But this puzzles you. Poincare, consenting to a conference, says j there mustn't be any suggestion of cutting down the amount he thinks Gerinany should -pay. That amount is thirty billions. If France can't pay "the stupendous sum" of four billions, how can Germany pay more than seven seven times as much? Will the world conference answer that question ?
