Funeral services wow held In the establishment of J. Prescott Cudmon, ut 1.30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, the officers and members of Ocean City Lodge, No. 171, F. and A. M., officiating. Internienu was made at Zion Cenieter y, Bargain town, the local Masonic fra-j ternity assuming charge of the services there also. Death came suddenly. Deceased was found on Thursday afternoon lying in the rear of his home; lb2s Asbury Avenue. A neighbor named, Elmer' Y. Robinson notified the police and friends. Mr. l~ike had .suffered for the past year from; severe attacks of heart disease. Mr. Lake was horn In Bargaintown on June S, 1865. He was the son of Mark Lake, and a car|K»nter by trade. Coming to Ocean City, forty yeans ugo, Mr. Lake played no small part in the early history <»f the city. Over twenty-five years ; ugo. he was elected a member of the City Council, and later served for a brief period on the local police force. J A man of many sterling qualities of character and intellectual^ v, he enjoyed the friendship of a large circle, and ut one period took an j active part in public affairs. Deceased leaves a widow, Mrs.. C. L- Lake, realtor; one son, Harry, uAd three daughters, Mrs. Wilson,, of Chicago, and the Misses Estelln and Marion, of Ocean City. Mr. Lake also leaves two bvolh- , er s and a sister to mourn his departure; William Lake, who madej, the first survey of the island; Ed- , ward Lake, who reside, in the!, South, ami Mrs. Anna 1 ryor, of ^ Camden.
